\u201cThe greatest joy in all living\nis the joy that comes from giving.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the children to understand\nthis joy of giving and to know the value of sharing, we at Tatva started a\ndrive called the \u2018Joy of Giving.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

True joy lies in giving and no one has become poor by giving. Children were motivated by teachers and parents to contribute heartfully towards this noble cause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charity begins at home. We were\nall taught by our elders and parents that sharing is caring. We as teachers\nwanted to imbibe the same into our children and help them experience that\ngiving liberates the soul of the giver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We charted a grade-wise plan to receive contributions from the children. They generously contributed for the same. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our pre-primary children\ncontributed the following. 25 kgs of sugar, 40 kgs of Bombay Rava and idli rava\neach, 45 kgs of peanuts, 40 kgs of atta, and 15 kgs of tamarind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our primary children contributed\n20 cartons of coconut oil, 16 cartons of toothpaste and toothbrushes, 16 cartons\nof shampoo, 15 cartons of bath soaps, and 16 cartons of detergent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our middle school and high school\nchildren together contributed 55 kgs of urad dal, 35 kgs of jaggery, 110 kgs of\nmoong dal, 70 kgs of toor dal, and 10 cartons of body lotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students also brought\nclothes\/toys\/books\/stationery\/bedsheets etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All these contributions were\ndonated to those in real need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 20th<\/sup>\nDecember 22 a few staff members along with a few students, took a part\nof the collection and went to \u2018Swadhar Greh\u2019 (for women in difficult\ncircumstances) in Nizampet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also took some of the collection to an old-age home in the same place.

It was a mixed feeling of happiness for being able to help the needy and a sad feeling after seeing their unfortunate life. Our students shared their experience of visiting these two places and understood how blessed they were, they also shared that their contribution was of some help to the needy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 22nd<\/sup> December 22 we\nwent to an orphanage in Jagathgiriguta and shared a part of our collection\nalong with a few teachers, students, and our bhaiyahs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the same day, we went to a slum area where a family supported around 50 students by helping them study in the evenings and feeding them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt’s easier to take than to give.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This drive was just a drop in the ocean but had and will\nhave a great impact on our students as they learned the art of sharing and\ncaring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be A\nGenerous Giver<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We love giving<\/em>
And help others make a living<\/em>
You do not lose anything by giving<\/em>
But in return wait for your blessings<\/em>
Never hesitate to be a giver<\/em>
Givers are never losers<\/em>
You win hearts by being a giver<\/em>
And bring a smile and hope  <\/em>
God has created you to be a giver<\/em>
He will take care of being your giver<\/em>
You don\u2019t become small by giving<\/em>
You change lives by giving  <\/em>
It takes a big heart to give <\/em>
And a small hand to receive.<\/em>
Be a generous giver<\/em>
And count the blessings you receive.<\/em>
